It’s hard to avoid the obvious on St Paddy’s Day. Guinness, Bailey’s and Irish whiskey are the usual suspects but if none of these appeals here are the sort of wines that will work with classic Irish fare.

In the end I didn’t get to the island of Janitzio, first pic, one of the most sought after destinations for Day of the Dead, because the crowds are just crazy these days but we went to one of the smaller island on Lake Patzcuaro, Yunuen where we saw these fisherman doing a traditional rhythmic dance with outsize fishing nets.
